Heavy-handed eyebrow pluckers, rejoice. There's no reason to continue trying to master the art of the brow alone. What will immediately stand out: you get to sit up straight

Well, if you've ever taken a selfie lying flat on your back then you know what gravity does to your face . . . it distorts, stretches; it's just not kind," Bailey explains. Identify your arch: everyone is different

Benefit's trained aesthetician kicks things off with Brow Mapping, which helps determine the shape of your arch. Using a brush, your brow expert will line it up to your face to determine the start, arch, and end of your brows. "[Brow Mapping] is a completely personalized approach to framing the face because it brings balance and proportion to the eyes," says Bailey.

Customize your brow shape before waxing

Another unique thing about visiting Benefit's BrowBar is this next step. "Once we identify the points, we outline the shape of the brow that would flatter your features the best — this is just a teaser of what the finished brow will look like," explains Bailey.

This will help you understand what will be waxed off and what will be left behind. Consider it an opportunity for you to give feedback and customize the shape to meet your taste.

Prep for the wax by cleaning and trimming the brows

Once you and your brow expert have agreed on a shape, it's time to clean and prep the face for waxing. Your brow expert will also trim away hairs that are too long.

Now it's wax time

Your aesthetician will start by waxing underneath the brow, which helps define the arch and avoids removing too much hair. Then they'll wax the top of the brow, which gives it that refined touch. There will be nine wax strips in total — four on each side and one in the middle.

Before and after

After brow mapping and waxing, brows are more defined, bringing balance and proportion to the face. But you aren’t done yet! To complete the look, your brow expert will style your brows with product. You wouldn’t go to the hair salon to cut and color your hair without blowing and styling it afterwords, would you? Same idea goes for your brows.
