As the former wife of Mick Jagger and a sartorial muse in her own right, it’s no wonder Bianca Jagger has certainly made her mark on the fashion scene (plus, she’s the mother of It model Georgia May Jagger). Bianca’s 1970s style was also the inspiration for Jenny Packham’s Fall 2014 runway show — and the theme could be seen in the beauty look, as well.
“Bianca had this way of dressing,” explained lead hairstylist Jeanie Syfu for Tresemme. “She mixed and matched things, and it just looked effortlessly cool. It’s not a literal interpretation of her look, but we liked the feeling of it not being over thought.” The result was a loose low bun with the ends splitting out. Hair was teased around the crown with volume — a style created by blow-drying locks with Tresemme 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse ($6) and then brushing it back with a Mason Pearson brush ($150).
Makeup, which was done by Talia Shobrook for Laura Mercier, was light, with the emphasis on a 1970s glossy lid and just-bitten lips. To create the retro eye, Shobrook applied Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Cameo ($24) on the lid as a base, followed by Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiance ($33) on top of the eye shadow and in the corners of the eyes to create an illuminated look.
The manicure was a standout, with Essie pro Michelle Saunders creating a floating bejeweled nail art look on the ring finger that included seven polishes. “The direct inspiration is from a piece of jewelry that is going to be in her collection this season,” Saunders explained. “The solaris is a combination between a flower and a star that opens up and bursts out.” To get the look, open up a bobby pin and use the tip as a dotting tool. Dip it in the colors and make a series of polka dots that open up into a floral starburst pattern. The center is a glittery hue called Set in Stones that looks like a jewel.
