I am going to be honest here: the Tony Awards is often my favorite show for its theatrical components (will be watching that Hamilton number on repeat until I can one day afford tickets), but the red carpet beauty can be a bit . . . well, boring. In comparison to the edginess of the Grammys or the all-out glamour of the Oscars, the Tonys can get lost in the realm of "playing it safe."
