Oprah Wouldn't Let Gayle Go to the Globes Looking Ashy, Because That's What Friends Are For

Gayle King may be a major media power player who anchors CBS This Morning and serves as the editor-at-large for O Magazine, but even she still needs a little help from her friends. And since one of her very good friends is Oprah Winfrey, needless to say Gayle gets some good preparty beauty advice.

Before the Golden Globes on Jan. 7, Oprah gave us a peek inside the duo's time spent getting ready together, because dreams do come true. As Gayle did a twirl in her shimmering Marc Bouwer gown, Oprah came in to assist. "Get your elbows," she told Gayle. "Hey, a little Ash Wednesday on the elbows, there." Oprah then called upon a member of their glam squad to swoop in with a moisturizer. "Can you give her some cream for the elbows?" she asked.

Later on the red carpet, Gayle looked flawless as she celebratedOprah's historic Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award with the winner herself and director Ava DuVernay. That's what friends are for!
