It was certainly a night for '90s beauty at the 2016 People's Choice Awards. Vanessa Hudgens channeled the decade with her beauty look and bold, black choker.

Her short, teased mane with flipped-out ends reminded us of Jennifer Aniston's "Rachel hair" in early Friends promos. Metallic makeup — gunmetal on the eyes and rose gold on the lips — felt goth and rocker. And the lack of any contour on her cheeks (which are so naturally chiseled, they really don't need defining) kept the entire style feeling throwback rather than Kardashian. What did modernize her makeup were defined brows, since we all really don't need the scarse arches of the '90s to make a renaissance.
