Ed Sheeran Earns an Honorary Degree and Reminds Us of Ron Weasley in His Cap and Gown

That's Dr. Sheeran to you! Ed Sheeran earned an honorary degree for outstanding contribution to music from the University Campus Suffolk in his native England this week. The singer shared an adorable photo of himself in cap and gown on Instagram, saying, "I graduated today, I am now officially Dr. Sheeran." Between the red hair and sweet smirk, it's hard not to pick up strong Ron Weasley vibes.

It was announced back in August that Ed would be receiving the honor at an official ceremony. In an interview, he called the recognition "a real privelege," adding, "Suffolk is very much where I call home and I'm always welcomed back and get so much support." Ed dropped out of school when he was just 16 years old to concentrate on his music career. The risky move clearly paid off, as Ed has a platinum-selling album and multiple top 20 singles under his belt. Check out Ed's cute graduation above now, then check out his recent duet of "Let It Go" with singer James Blake.
