Jon Stewart Gets Serious When Reacting to the Eric Garner Case

Jon Stewart admitted that he wasn't in the mood to tell jokes on Wednesday's episode of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, which taped shortly after news broke that a grand jury in Staten Island will not indict the police officer who was captured on camera choking an unarmed man, Eric Garner, to death. While The Daily Show often deals with difficult subject matter, Jon admitted that he couldn't shed a satirical lens on the news, saying, "If comedy is tragedy plus time, I think I need more f*cking time. But I would really settle for less f*cking tragedy, to be honest with you." Watch Jon's emotional monologue above.
