Laverne Cox was the guest of honor at Madame Tussauds in San Francisco on Friday. The actress and activist became the first-ever transgender star to get a wax figure displayed in the legendary exhibit, and the unveiling also helped kick off gay pride festivities in the city. Laverne shared an Instagram photo from the event, saying, "Next to my wax figure at #madametussauds in San Francisco. Does she look like me? #TransIsBeautiful." For the record, the wax figure does really look like her — see more uncanny versions of celebrity wax figures.

Laverne's exciting milestone came just days after she hit the stage at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom for an impressive performance at Broadway Bares, which brings together some of today's hottest stars to raise awareness and money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Laverne also flexed her philanthropic muscles at the amfAR Inspiration Gala last week and gave a moving speech that inspired fellow transgender star Caitlyn Jenner. Caitlyn reached out to the Orange Is the New Black star via Twitter, saying, "Your support means the world. Thank you for all that you do for the community."
