Queen Elizabeth Visits the Supermarket in a Totally Normal, Not at All Royal Way

Queen Elizabeth II made a visit to the Waitrose supermarket in the town of Poundbury, Dorset, England, on Thursday. The 90-year-old monarch, who was joined by her husband, Prince Philip; son Prince Charles; and Camilla, duchess of Cornwall, made her way into the store with a guide and strolled through the aisles looking at products. She also met and chatted with store employees and was given a tour. The royal family members were in Poundbury — an experimental new town on the outskirts of Dorchester in southwest England — for an unveiling of the statue of the queen mother; Charles spoke during the ceremony before accompanying his mother to Waitrose, as well as a local pub. Just another day in the life.
