Robert Pattinson on Jennifer Lawrence: "I Don't Have That Kind of Confidence"

You can add Robert Pattinson to the list of celebrities singing Jennifer Lawrence's praises. The actor, who is currently starring in the indie film The Rover, was giving an interview to The Daily Beast when talk turned to the Oscar-winning star of The Hunger Games trilogy, who has also juggled smaller films with big-budget fare. "She's amazing. She's absolutely incredible," Robert said. "But also we're different types of people. She seems like she's superconfident — and I don't have the kind of confidence. She glows. I think you can fit that into quite a few different areas. Whereas I've got a kind of sneak-through-the-cracks style."

Robert also reflected on his Twilight days during the conversation. He says one thing he never understood about the tidal wave of criticism for the franchise was the accusation that it portrayed women in a negative light. ". . . For some reason there were all these political arguments against it," he said. "People saying, "Oh, it's a bad example for women." Blah, blah, blah. As if we were all a bunch of dumbasses. We're not playing it that way! That's purely your interpretation! We're not trying to make a movie about subservient female characters at all."

So, would Robert ever sign on for another series of films having weathered the Twilight storm? Maybe. "I'd have to put a lot of thought into it first. But in a lot of ways, those are the only big movies that are made anymore," he laughed. "So unless you just never want to do studio movies, you have to realize that you've got to do The Fault in Our Stars 2. "
