How Robin Williams Helped His Costar Land a Prom Date

Now this is how you ask someone special to prom! This past May, Skyler Gisondo, who starred in Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb alongside funnymen Robin Williams and Ben Stiller, may have created the most epic prom proposal ever. Skyler, who was a senior in high school while filming, missed the opportunity to ask his date to the dance in person, so he enlisted the help of some übertalented actors and one adorable monkey.

The clip has now gone viral, and in talking about it, Skyler told The Hollywood Reporter, "All morning, Robin was pitching more ideas. He was saying, 'Can I say this? Would it be appropriate to say this?' You're Robin Williams. You can say whatever you want!" Of course, Robin was full of hilarious one-liners, but did it help Skyler get the girl? Yes! Skyler explained, "It turned into this three-minute, ridiculous thing. A prom-posal — I realized that was the most awesome three minutes of my life and I've accepted it will go downhill from there."

When asked about working with Robin, who passed away in August, Skyler had sweet words to share. "Robin was this bottomless reservoir of kindness and hilarity," he said. "It was just so special to work so closely with this guy whose movies I've grown up with and watch his preparedness and his kindness."
