Oh, So This Is Why the Denver Broncos Got Destroyed

At the Super Bowl, it felt like the Seattle Seahawks were playing Denver's JV squad. Now we have an explanation. According to headline-grabbing Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman, his team decoded Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning's hand signals. Sherman was quoted in Sports Illustrated:

"We knew what route concepts they liked on different downs, so we jumped all the routes. Then we figured out the hand signals for a few of the route audibles in the first half."

No wonder Peyton practically threw the the ball to the other team. Like spies, Seattle cracked the Broncos' code and held one of the highest-scoring teams in NFL history to only eight points. It made for a dominating performance and a pretty snoozy game. At least Bruno Mars's halftime show and David Beckham's underwear ad brought their A-games.
