Justin Long and Kate Bosworth Reportedly Discussed Eloping Before Secret NYC Wedding

It's only been a few weeks since Kate Bosworth and Justin Long confirmed their engagement, but it appears the couple have already tied the knot. During the May 9 episode of Long's "Life Is Short" podcast (where the engagement news was officially announced), the "Barbarian" actor casually referred to Bosworth as his "now-wife" while he recalled filming the 2022 horror flick in Bulgaria.

"I was there while I was like really falling in love with my now-wife," said Long, seemingly confirming the two have wed. "And she came to visit, and I had never been comfortable with . . . set visits, I was never crazy about. I liked separating the relationship, but I loved having her there, and we just had the most magical time."

Then on May 31, People reported via sources that Long and Bosworth secretly married in a spur-of-the-moment wedding ceremony not long after their engagement — which, according to Page Six, took place at The Rockaway Hotel in Queens, NY, in early May without much planning. "After they got engaged, Kate couldn't wait to marry Justin," an insider told People. "She knew that she never wanted a big wedding. She just cared about being married."

The source added: "They kept talking about eloping. They ended up having an impromptu and casual wedding a few weeks ago. It was perfect. She is thrilled to be married to Justin."

Reps for Long and Bosworth did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR's request for comment about the couple's reported marriage. However, Bosworth posted a photo on her Instagram Stories on May 14 that showed her and Long wearing bands on their ring fingers, per People. In the snap, Long and Bosworth are seated around a table with two others with a "Happy Mother's Day" symbol tagged.

The pair opened up about Long's proposal during the April 4 edition of his podcast. "It was a moment where it just felt so organic and it felt connected to something very, very deeply, profoundly personal that we were going through, like, a real life change, and so it came out in a very organic way," Long said of popping the question to Bosworth. "The asking of it was easy, it just kind of spilled out."

Long and Bosworth have had a whirlwind romance over the past two years. The pair were first linked back in May 2021 after they wrapped filming for their 2022 horror movie "House of Darkness." After Bosworth shared photos of them on Instagram that month and praised Long in her caption, he confirmed he was in a relationship seven months later on his podcast, though he didn't reveal the name of his other half.

During an April 2022 appearance on Nick Viall's "The Viall Files" show, Long shared that he had found "the one," but he, again, didn't disclose Bosworth's name. "I want to [talk about it], but I also want to be protective," Long noted. "I want to scream it from the rooftops, but I also want to be protective. It's sacred."

Though Long still keeps details of their relationship under wraps, it seems he isn't afraid to declare he may now be a married man.
