This Man Lost $3,200 on Jeopardy For Mispronouncing "Gangsta's Paradise"

Let Nick's mistake be a lesson to us all. In 2018, you gotta keep it gangsta at all times. Never Gangster #Jeopardy pic.twitter.com/NMO7QsAfyI

A man named Nick got hit with a savage blow on Jeopardy! when he lost thousands of dollars for saying "gangster" instead of "gangsta" in an answer about a Coolio song. The hilarious clip showing the moment from the episode is going viral on Twitter, and more than 2 million people have watched Nick's total go from $12,000 to $8,800 when host Alex Trebek explains the retraction after Nick's answer was initially counted correct. The clue in the Music and Literature Before and After Category was, "A song by Coolio from Dangerous Minds goes back in time to become a 1667 John Milton classic." The contestant responds with the play on words, "What is Gangster's Paradise Lost?"

After the contestant got credit for the answer, Alex said, "Our judges have reevaluated one of your responses a few moments ago. You said 'gangster's' instead of 'gangsta's' on that song by Coolio, so we take $3,200 away from you, so you are now in second place." Womp womp. Watch the awkward exchange play out for yourself above!
