Robin Thicke Breaks His Silence on Dad Alan's Death: He Was the "Greatest Man I Ever Met"

Alan Thicke passed away on Tuesday after suffering from a heart attack while playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter. Celebrity tributes for the actor, who was best known for his role as Jason Seaver in Growing Pains, quickly came pouring in, followed by heartbreaking and beautiful words from his son Robin. The "Blurred Lines" singer spoke to the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday night about what his dad meant to him. Calling him "the greatest man I ever met" and "always a gentleman," Robin said: "The good thing was that he was beloved and he had closure. I saw him a few days ago and told him how much I loved and respected him." He then took to Instagram to share another message, writing, "My father passed away today. He was the best man I ever knew. The best friend I ever had. Let's all rejoice and celebrate the joy he brought to every room he was in. We love you Alan Thicke. Thank you for your love. Love, your grateful son."

Alan's youngest son, Carter, also paid tribute to his dad with a photo on Instagram, writing, "Today I lost my best friend and my idol, and the world lost one of it's finest. I have never known a more kind, loving, hairy, and generous person in my life and I am forever grateful for the light that this man brought to my life and so many others. You will be missed every second of every day. You are a legend and I love you Pops. Until next time."
