86,000 Extras Applied to Be on Game of Thrones — the Show Only Needed 600

Game of Thrones has been filming in Spain, and when the show put a casting call out for an epic battle scene, producers got more than they bargained for. According to Entertainment Weekly, the show's casting company put out a call for 600 extras, and when 86,000 applied, the response was so overwhelming that they "needed to add more server space to accommodate the load." The people who showed up for the roles were everywhere from out-of-work actors to investment bankers who took time off to be a part of their favorite show. Meanwhile, we've been pretty busy obsessing over the recent set pictures and Jason Momoa's insane audition tape.
