Supergirl Lands a Series Order at CBS

There's a new superhero show on the primetime schedule! CBS has given a series order to Supergirl, starring Glee's Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl. After hiding her powers for 24 years, she decides it's time to embrace them and become a hero. The series, from which we saw a couple of pictures back in March, costars Calista Flockhart, Mehcad Brooks, and Chyler Leigh. Several Superman alums guest-star in the pilot, including Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman's Dean Cain and Helen Slater, who played Supergirl in the 1984 movie. The new series is being produced by Greg Berlanti, who also produces The Flash and Arrow. Might there be some DC Comics crossovers between The CW and CBS? We hope so.
