The Flash has been on hiatus for what feels like forever, but it's back this week! Since it's been so long since the finale (and you've been busy living your best Summer life), you may have missed some huge news: Tom Felton has joined the cast, and we already know the name of his character and have pictures of him in character. Plus, he's not the only new face! Following the cast's appearance at Comic-Con, we also have the first trailer. Here's what we know about the new season so far, premiering Tuesday.

We'll Get to Meet Caitlin's Mom
The Vampire Diaries fans may recognize Susan Walters as Carol Lockwood, Tyler's mom, and she's portraying yet another important mother on The CW. She'll be Dr. Carla Tannhauser, the mega-smart, mega-accomplished mom of Caitlin Snow.

Tom Felton Has Joined the Cast
Felton, best known for starring in the Harry Potter franchise, has joined the cast as CSI named Julian Dorn. The character isn't established in the DC universe, so we don't yet know what to expect from Julian. We do know that he's suspicious of his fellow investigator, Barry.

They're Taking on the Flashpoint Storyline
As Grant Gustin has teased on Twitter, The Flash is taking on a famous storyline known as Flashpoint. It pivots off the scene from the finale when Barry travels back in time to save his mother and creates an alternate timeline where his life is very different. "We're definitely doing this FP thing our own way," Gustin later wrote on Twitter. "I've read Flashpoint, I've seen the amazing animated film. This will be its own thing."

There's Going to Be an Insane Crossover
While Supergirl and The Flash have already had a crossover, and The Flash is constantly intertwined with Arrow, The CW is going to bring all four of its DC shows together for one gigantic crossover in December.
