MTV Is Going Back to the 90's With Its New Classic Channel

Get excited, '90s kids! MTV just announced that they are rebranding VH1 Classic as MTV Classic on Aug. 1, and it's sure to be filled with some nostalgic goodies. Not only will the new channel include everything you love about the 1990s and early 2000s, but it also plans on reviving some of your favorite MTV shows and music programming. The launch also holds a special significance as it marks the 35th anniversary of the network on Aug. 1, 1981. While the first hour of the debut will pay homage to the first hour of programming in MTV's history, the rest of the channel will look back at classic hits like Total Request Live, Real World, and Laguna Beach.
