What You Missed If You Didn't Watch Peter Pan Live!

Peter Pan Live! took flight on NBC this week, with Allison Williams leading the charge as the title character we know and love and Christopher Walken as a version of Captain Hook we've never quite seen before. Though Twitter went wild, the ratings for the live stage musical were actually down from the network's production of The Sound of Music. We watched, though, and can tell you everything you missed and everything you need to know about NBC's latest live stunt — and all the GIFs and videos you should see to truly get what went on.

Allison Williams Was Great

Williams, in the iconic lead role, was incredible, and her fantastic performance was what made the show so solid and enjoyable. Her British accent was good, her singing was beautiful (watch her sing "I Can Fly" here), and she just really committed and looked like she was having a great time.

Yes, you could see wires sometimes. Did it make it any less magical? No.

Christopher Walken Was So Christopher Walken-y

This guy. Honestly, Christopher Walken's Captain Hook performance was sort of everything we expected and everything we wanted. He danced and impressed us, clearly forgot his lines in some scenes, sometimes looked like he was lip-syncing, and genuinely seemed like he was actually in an SNL skit. But with Walken, the highs were highs and the lows were highs, you know? Here are the most Walken-y parts you need to know about.

The Crocodile Was Sort of Insane

The legendary crocodile who follows around Captain Hook made his appearance, and let's just say, no one was expecting this. There's a person inside that purple suit. It was jarring, but then kind of awesome.

Minnie Driver's Appearance Was Memorable

Driver narrated the play and then made her appearance as grown-up Wendy at the end. Not only was her singing beautiful, she had one of the play's most emotional scenes: when she tells Peter who she is and that she has grown up. Driver and Williams were both great in this moving scene, which gave the production some emotional resonance.
