The judges of "The Voice" never know what to expect when it comes to auditions, but they were in for an even bigger surprise this week thanks to a famous fake contestant. On March 7, Jimmy Fallon lent his musical talents to an episode of the NBC show, gracing the judges with a performance of Michael McDonald's "I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)." Of course, like all auditions on "The Voice," the four judges had no idea who was singing.

Kelly Clarkson was the first judge to spin around, bursting into laughter as soon as she spotted the late-night talk show host. Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper also hit their buttons to turn around soon after, yet only Blake Shelton remained unconvinced – until Fallon walked toward his chair and pushed the button himself.

Fallon's performance was, in part, meant to honor Shelton, who is exiting "The Voice" at the end of the current season. "I texted Carson [Daly] and said, I gotta come over. 23 seasons — you're a legend," Fallon told Shelton. Before leaving, the comedian also revealed that if he were to work with one of the judges, he'd choose Clarkson. "I'm on Kelly's team!" he said. "Thank you for turning around."
