Jupiter's Legacy: Meet the Star-Studded Cast Leading Netflix's Next Superhero Epic

Netflix has another superhero show coming to the streaming platform, but don't expect any additions to the series of gritty Marvel adaptations that recently got the boot. Instead, Netflix is bringing Jupiter's Legacy to the small screen.

According to a press release from the network, Netflix is planning this as the first in a slate of series and movies based on the stories of Mark Millar, who wrote a series of graphic novels of the same name. The show's plot is described as follows:

"The world's first generation of superheroes received their powers in the 1930s. Now, in present day, they are the revered elder guard, but their superpowered children struggle to live up to the legendary feats of their parents."

Josh Duhamel as Sheldon Sampson

According to the official release about the show, the Transformers star is playing the lead, Sheldon Sampson. Known also as "The Utopian," he's "the storied leader of the superhero team The Union." But Sheldon hasn't been able to keep up with the changing times, and finds himself at odds with not only his own family, but also the world in general.

Leslie Bibb as Grace Sampson

Grace Sampson, aka Lady Liberty, will be played by Tag's Leslie Bibb. Her character is Sheldon's wife, and also happens to be "one of the most powerful heroes on the planet." Netflix describes their dynamic by saying that, "She doesn't always agree with Sheldon, but strives to balance his ideals with the reality of the modern, often violent, world they live in."

Matt Lanter as George Hutchence

Timeless star Matt Lanter plays George Hutchence (aka Skyfox), who was one of the original members of The Union and Sheldon Sampson's closest friend and ally. But after turning against his friends, Skyfox is "now considered the greatest supervillain in the world," and "plots his revenge on the teammates he believes betrayed him."

Ben Daniels as Walter Sampson

Ben Daniels, who's set to appear in Netflix's The Crown later this year, plays Walter Sampson (aka Brain-Wave), Sheldon's older brother. He's "a man of vast intellect and cunning who, unlike Sheldon, isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Or bloody."

Mike Wade as Fitz Small

Mike Wade (For the People) is playing Fitz Small, whose superhero name is "The Flare." Apparently he's "the heart and soul of The Union, and despite suffering injuries that ended his career as a superhero, he continues to be one of the most valued members of the team."

Elena Kampouris as Chloe Sampson

Sacred Lies actress Elena Kampouris is on board as Sheldon's daughter, Chloe, who rejects "everything her parents stand for . . . forging her own hedonistic path far away from them." Will her chosen path lead her into the arms of her father's worst enemy?

Andrew Horton as Brandon Sampson

Brandon Sampson is Grace and Sheldon's son, and trains to take on the mantle of The Utopian alongside his parents in The Union. But, like a lot of kids, Brandon struggles with living up to his parents' expectations and also his father's legend status.
