10 Unexpected Actors Who Star in Finding Dory, From Idris Elba to Ed O'Neill
In addition to the stunning visuals, uplifting moments, and nonstop jokes, one of the best parts about Disney-Pixar movies is the incredible voice cast that they never fail to line up. Finding Dory is no different, with actors like Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks returning, and newbies Idris Elba and Dominic West joining in on the fun. Check out the full cast ahead!
Marlin and Dory
Your favorite duo is back in Finding Dory, which picks up about a year after the events in Finding Nemo. As they embark on a journey to find Dory's parents, this odd-ball pair is just as hilarious and neurotic as ever.
Ellen DeGeneres as Dory
Ellen DeGeneres makes a triumphant return to the screen in the form of the world's pluckiest Pacific Blue Tang, with a voice performance that's as incredibly layered as it is funny.
Albert Brooks as Marlin
Veteran actor Albert Brooks returns as high-strung clown fish Marlin. Since Finding Nemo's release 13 years ago, he's been busy with roles in This Is 40, Drive, and Concussion.
Nemo
Although Nemo is more of a sidekick this time around, the little clownfish who could joins in on Marlin and Dory's mission, which takes them all the way to California.
Hayden Rolence
Hayden Rolence replaces Alexander Gould as the voice of Nemo in the sequel, and it's his biggest project so far!
Rudder and Fluke
These wise-cracking, Cockney-accented sea lions provide plenty of comic relief while helping Marlin and Nemo reunite with Dory when they end up getting separated.
Dominic West as Rudder
British actor Dominic West, who you probably know from his turns in The Affair and Money Monster, is the perfect choice for the lighthearted character of Rudder.
Idris Elba as Fluke
Idris Elba took some time off from filming The Dark Tower to play Fluke, and obviously his deep voice is just as charming as ever.
Jenny and Charlie
Say hello to Dory's parents, Jenny and Charlie. Once you watch the movie it'll be clear where Dory got her trademark sense of humor from.
Diane Keaton as Jenny
The Love the Coopers actress has the perfect motherly tone to play Dory's anxious, caring mom, Jenny.
Eugene Levy as Charlie
Eugene Levy puts his comedic chops to good use as Dory's funny father, Charlie, but it's the moments where he shows true care for his daughter that will make your heart melt.
Hank
Hank the septopus (an octopus missing one leg, duh) is far and away one of the biggest gems to come out of Finding Dory. He's cantankerous and more than a little bit rude, but there's a big, big heart hiding in there (or three, if we're being technical).
Ed O'Neill
Ed O'Neill has had plenty of practice playing a surly but lovable character on Modern Family for the last few years, so voicing Hank must have been second nature.
Destiny and Bailey
Destiny, a near-sighted whale shark, and Bailey, a beluga whale who thinks his sonar skills are broken, provide much of the laughs in Finding Dory as fellow residents of the Marine Institute where Dory thinks her parents are living.
Kaitlin Olson as Destiny
The It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia alum knocks it out of the park as ditzy Destiny. Just listening to her "speak whale" will have you laughing for days.
Ty Burrell as Bailey
Ed O'Neill isn't the only Modern Family star who plays a role in Dory's journey! Ty Burrell plays Bailey, whose constant, hysterical bickering with Destiny is one of the best parts of the film.
