"Love Is Blind"'s Season 5 Reunion Reveals the Cast's Current Relationship Statuses

Watch out! This post contains spoilers.

Drama outweighed romance in "Love Is Blind" season five, but we finally know where all the contestants' relationships stand after a whirlwind of events. The hit Netflix dating experiment returned on Sept. 22 with a batch of hopeful singles from Houston looking for their one true love. After weeks of surprising moments — from pod-squad blowups to that makeup-shaming moment — it was hard to say which pairings would make it through to the finale, aka wedding day, but now viewers finally have all the answers — especially after the revealing reunion special, which aired on Oct. 15.

The cast's time in the pods signaled trouble in paradise for some, like Uche, Aaliyah, and Lydia, who found themselves wrapped up in an unexpected love triangle. Meanwhile, others made love connections that weren't that strong, which led to some dramatic breakups during and after the season.

"Love Is Blind" creator Chris Coelen told Variety that, as in past seasons, multiple other couples on the show got engaged but weren't followed like some of their castmates. One of those couples was, apparently, Renee Poche and Carter Wall. The former told POPSUGAR that she was informed months ahead of season five that the pair's story "wasn't going to be a big focus," and it was ultimately cut.

For the love stories we did follow in season five, read ahead to find out which couples got married, who called it quits, and which cast members found love elsewhere.

Relationship status: Broken up

JP and Taylor were the first season five couple to get engaged. However, their romance didn't last very long. Upon meeting each other for the first time, the pair's conversations were a bit brief (and awkward). The communication breakdown carried on when the couple joined the other engaged pairs for their group getaway trip, which ultimately led to their breakup.

During an argument in episode six, Taylor noted that her and JP's "emotional connection isn't where it should be," attributing it to their awkwardness. JP then admitted that he didn't like that Taylor wore makeup when they met face-to-face. "Without any makeup, it would've been better," he said, adding that Taylor's "caked-up face" made her seem "fake."

The next day, the two tried to reconcile, though it was too much for Taylor to look past, as she said she was "done." Looks like love wasn't blind for this couple after all.

Back in September, Taylor confirmed to POPSUGAR that she was "happy and dating." She added, "I feel like I'm thriving over there." During the reunion, JP revealed that he's been dating someone new for about a year now, while Taylor said she's simply "seeing someone" right now. "Not official yet," she added. "Taking it slow."

Relationship status: Broken up

Uche and Aaliyah's romance seemed to be a perfect match from the start, though several missteps got in their way. First, Aaliyah admitted she cheated in a past relationship, which prompted a less-than-kind response from Uche. The argument brought Aaliyah to tears and she ran to her pod friend Lydia for comfort. But things took a turn when Uche shared his own shocking revelation: he and Lydia dated before "Love Is Blind." This left Aaliyah with many questions and some resentment toward her connection and friend.

Ultimately, Aaliyah decided to leave the show at the end of episode four. Producers informed Uche of her exit just before he was about to propose to her. In the following episode, Uche called Aaliyah to get clarity on why she left, but her answers left him dissatisfied, so he hung up on her. The two then came face-to-face in episode seven to discuss what went wrong.

In short, Aaliyah shared that she began doubting their relationship once she found out about Lydia and felt Uche didn't give her enough details. Uche admitted he should've been more forthcoming, but ultimately he suggested that the two call it quits. Aaliyah told "Love Is Blind" alum Cameron on his "Hanging With the Hamiltons" show that she and Uche tried to date outside of the show for "about a month," though "it didn't work out." In September, she confirmed to POPSUGAR that the two no longer speak and added that she was "dating, happy, and in a great place."

During the reunion, Aaliyah updated viewers and said, "I'm in a beautiful, loving relationship now with somebody who treats me like a queen." According to her, they met on an R&B cruise. As of today, it's unclear whether Uche is dating or in a relationship, as he didn't attend the reunion.

Relationship status: Still married

Milton and Lydia's connection was quite the roller coaster in the pods, mainly because of the latter's surprise past relationship with Uche. But the two didn't let that, or their six-year age gap, stop them from getting engaged. Things were smooth sailing during their getaway trip, and they even made it to the next stage of the "Love Is Blind" experiment without a hitch: meeting friends and family. The pair's loved ones seemed to approve of their relationship. However, things hit a snag in episode seven when Lydia and Uche got into a screaming match while rehashing their past. Though Milton kept his cool during the argument, he later admitted before their wedding that he wasn't happy with how Lydia handled the situation.

But despite all the challenges, the couple said "I do" in the season finale. "I've fallen in love with you because you listened . . . You understanded who I was," Lydia told Milton. He then said, "We had our ups, we had our downs, and the communication maturity that you showed, I knew you were the one. I never had a doubt about you, and I hope it continues to be like that forever." At the reunion, Lydia and Milton revealed that they're still "happily married."

Relationship status: Broken up

Izzy and Stacy were another couple who got off to a rocky start since they, too, found themselves in a weird love triangle. Initially, Izzy and Johnie hit it off in the pods, though the former also struck up a connection with Stacy (and Lydia, briefly). Both romances continued until Izzy broke things off with Johnie — who also connected with Chris — in episode three to pursue Stacy, whom he popped the question to in the following episode. Things went smoothly on Izzy and Stacy's romantic trip and back home in Houston, though they had their fair share of spats about things like Izzy's finances and Stacy's lifestyle. Then came more drama.

When the pod squad reunited in episode seven, Johnie and Izzy sat down to clear the air, during which the latter said he heard a lot of "sketchy sh*t" about her. He accused her of, basically, running game on him and other guys in the pods, specifically Chris, saying, "The things that you were telling me, I wasn't the only guy you were telling." Prior to that argument, Stacy also stated that she had an issue with Johnie, and the two later got into it.

Izzy and Stacy also had another argument and still had some differences to work out, so it comes as no surprise that the two did not get married on their wedding day. At the altar, Izzy said yes to Stacy, but she said the timing didn't feel right. "I do want you, and I wanna say yes, but I would be doing you and I a disservice right now to say that 'I do' when I feel like there's a lot things we need — and more than anything, we need time," she explained. Izzy said he understood and that he loved Stacy.

Though the two shared a kiss and seemed to be on good terms, they couldn't agree on how to move forward at the time. "We're at different spots, it really breaks my heart," he told Stacy. "I love you, I did want to marry you, a timeline didn't matter for me. But that's just me. When is ever gonna be the right time? That's what I'm gonna wonder with you. I just want to be loved the way that I love. Bottom line, I deserve that." Stacy later said in a confessional that she didn't have "100 percent certainty" in their relationship, which is why she couldn't marry Izzy.

When asked during the reunion if they tried to date again after the season ended, Stacy and Izzy said that they agreed to "take some time" for themselves. A week after their wedding, the two met up to discuss their relationship, but Stacy said she couldn't move forward with it. "I, in that moment, was shocked," said Izzy. ". . . I was so mad at her after that because I thought we were really going to try . . . I was so upset, I just walked out and I didn't talk to you for a year." The pair had more run-ins later on, but ultimately decided to stay broken up.

Currently, it seems Stacy is dating someone new, though she didn't divulge details during the reunion. Izzy, meanwhile, shared that he's also seeing someone: "We're not official yet, but it's getting to that point."

Are Johnie and Chris From "Love Is Blind" Season 5 Still Together?

Relationship status: Broken up

According to Johnie, Chris was her number two connection from the pods behind Izzy. Though the two shared some sentimental moments, Johnie told Chris in episode two that she had a stronger connection with someone else and broke up with him. The two had a fairly friendly split, despite the circumstances. But when Izzy broke things off with Johnie, she circled back to Chris to try and repair their relationship.

Surprisingly, the two salvaged their connection, though not in the pods. In episode seven, we learned the two began dating off screen, as Johnie told the pod squad girls they're "official." In a confessional, she shared that the two met at the airport and felt their connection was still there. Chris even met Johnie's mom, who said he's "the best person" she's ever dated.

However, Johnie and Chris's relationship was short-lived; viewers learned during the reunion that, shockingly enough, it was because the latter cheated. Johnie said that, after the pod-squad party, Chris went on a trip for a wedding and she didn't see him afterward, though she heard a few weeks later that he was seeing someone new. Chris confirmed the revelation, clarifying that he started dating someone else without officially breaking things off with Johnie.

"I didn't handle the situation as someone would properly," said Chris, who added that he's found someone whom he now lives with. "We're very happy together," he said. Johnie has since moved on, too, sharing that she's been seeing someone for a year now. She posted her boyfriend on Instagram after the reunion, captioning a post, "hell was the journey but it brought me heaven. happy one year, Alex — thank you for showing me what true love is." She also posted a photo montage of them, captioned, "I'm doing just fine."
