This Mom Is "Retiring the Boobs" After 3 Months of Breastfeeding, and That's Totally OK

Cameran Eubanks, a reality star you may recognize from Bravo's Southern Charm, posted a personal PSA to Instagram on Feb. 1 that she's hoping other new mothers will read: she's decided to stop breastfeeding after nearly three months because she's "just plain over it," and that doesn't make her a "bad mother."

The mom of 3-month-old Palmer Corinne Wimberly explained that though she may catch some flack for her decision from other women, this is her choice nonetheless. She captioned the post "I know I'm opening up the flood gates with this one" and dove into why the choice to end breastfeeding is extremely personal.

Today marks the day I am DONE with breastfeeding. Gave it a good almost three months and I am retiring the boobs. Writing this in hopes it will make other mothers feel less alone. You see, I'm not quitting because my milk supply dried up or because I'm sick . . . I'm quitting because I'm just plain OVER IT. By CHOICE. I know I will get lectured and judged by this but it doesn't bother me. I need some freedom back for my sanity and the bottle and formula will allow that. You are not a bad mother if you don't like breastfeeding. A happy mama is the best gift you can give your baby (at least in my opinion).

And Cameran is 100 percent right. At the end of the day, fed is best. So whether you decide to breastfeed for three or years or can only stick it out for three days, as long as your little one is happy and healthy, that's truly all that matters. Hopefully, other moms take a page from her book and go a little easier on themselves and each other.
