The Place Every Wine-Loving Mom Needs to Vacation With Her Family

Although recent research claims that parents should spend money on vacations with their kids rather than on toys, family trips can be stressful for moms and dads. After a long day of visiting the sites, hitting up an amusement park, "relaxing" on the beach, or what have you, there's one thing that every parent — especially millennial parents — need once the kids have passed out in their hotel beds.

Wine. They need wine.

Luckily for all of us, Great Wolf Lodge just announced the most genius program we can't believe doesn't already exist universally in hotels and resorts worldwide: "Wine Down Service," a turndown service specifically for parents.

"The concept for Wine Down Service was developed as a way to provide parents with a wine experience they can savor after their children have fallen asleep," said Chris Hammond, the corporate director of food and beverage for Great Wolf Lodge. "To make this a truly authentic wine experience for parents, we curated a menu that pairs top-scoring wines from The Wine Group with tantalizing dishes."

Guests can order packages (starting at $35) from the wine down service menu, which features four sommelier-curated wine and food pairings with names like "While the Pups Sleep, Chardonnay" and "Kids Snoring, More Pinot Noir-ing." The service will take place between the hours of 8 and 11 p.m., and deliveries to the room will be announced via text message to avoid any knocking noises waking up the (hopefully) slumbering kids.

The service will first launch at the Great Wolf Lodge resorts in Williamsburg, VA, and Grapevine, TX, following Memorial Day weekend, but don't worry, there are plans to expand the service to additional resorts later this year.

Although everything about this service is genius, we do think they missed a prime opportunity to call this thing "whine-down service," but we digress.
