How Celine Dion Emerged as the Style Icon You Weren't Expecting

Not since Celine Dion showed up in backwards white suit at the '99 Oscars have I really thought about the singer and style in the same sentence. It's not that she's poorly dressed; in fact, when she glams up for award shows, she always looks lovely. But she's not a style setter — not someone who seems to love fashion or make it any priority. She's not usually out to make a statement or stay on top of trends.

All of that changed when she put in a call to Law Roach, the stylist behind Zendaya. In fact, as Roach revealed to Elle, Celine tracked him down after googling images of Zendaya's outfits and landing on his name. (Yes, Celine Dion googles). Now, she's having fun with fashion, dressing the part of a style fixture with Law calling in a wardrobe full of Balenciaga and Dior to sit front row at Couture Week in Paris. That's a pretty big 180 from a woman we haven't seen much in the limelight, outside of her Vegas residency.

Still, Celine seems right at home, taking on the role of fashion plate and style icon, and during one of the industry's highest-stakes gatherings, no less. Who would've thought Celine Dion would have the looks everyone was talking about at Couture Week? But with Law carefully orchestrating her next outfit, it's clear she came to play.
