This Bridal Campaign Will Change the Way You Think About Buying a Wedding Dress

David's Bridal is making major power moves. Not only did the company just launch in the UK, it shot its Spring '16 campaign there, too, starring size 14 model Mercy Watson. The result is a series of five photos, lensed by photographer David Burton, all of which are downright romantic and feature a slightly vintage-inspired filter.

Watson shines as she shows off two gorgeous gowns, one princess silhouette perfect for the ceremony and a column gown with a scalloped hem that's fitting for a reception. Both styles are embroidered with lovely lace detail, and they'd look flattering on a wide range of figures — and that's the idea behind the sure-to-be-buzzy ads, which Trevor Lunn, David's Bridal senior vice president, commented on:

"We recognize that our customers are all different sizes and silhouettes and felt it was important to reflect this diversity in our ad campaign creative. We are proud that these images further reinforce our commitment to helping every bride-to-be find the gown of her dreams, regardless of her shape, style or budget and are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with a model as beautiful as Mercy."

Read on to see the lovely shots — which are confirmation enough that you don't need to be a size two to work a wedding dress — and admire Mercy's bridal party as it comes to life with rose petals, sparklers, and a disco ball, all of which make us want to rejoice over the fashion industry's successful embrace of body diversity.
