The Secret to Gisele's Success, According to Gisele

We've watched Gisele Bündchen grace countless covers and dominate runways and campaigns, but we rarely get to see her open up about her years in the industry. Now, after 20 years as the world's most successful supermodel, she's sitting down to give Charlie Rose the backstory on her transformation from teenage tomboy to fashion icon. Here, she takes us through her $700 coffee table book — which has already sold out — candidly calling out her earlier snaps, when she "had no idea about fashion [and] really didn't care." It's hard to imagine the 35-year-old industry vet, who's posed for every major photographer in the business, having no clue when it comes to style, but Gisele learned a lot along the way.

Still, when asked if she's been so successful because of her look, her answer is definitive: "not at all." Instead, she credits her personality. "I think I've never complained." she tells Rose, describing shoots in the freezing cold or the desert heat, because she always "wanted to do my best. If I'm going to make the time to do it, I'm not going to be there unless I can show up 100 percent." That's a valuable lesson, even for us nonsupermodels.
