Before you go shopping at Bloomingdale's, you might want to hear what Erica Russo has to say. As the accessories fashion director, Erica knows the ins and outs of the giant retailer and is an expert on trends. If you frequent department stores, however, you know you can wander around for hours on end (raise your hand if you've ever gotten lost in one . . . as an adult). To make the search for things you love a little easier, we tapped Erica to give us the lowdown on what to look for when we visited the new shoe floor at New York City's flagship store. When it comes to footwear, she revealed the brands to know and love, and we've even included our own picks ahead to get you inspired.

The Biggest Shoe Trends For Spring

"One of the biggest things we're talking about at Bloomingdale's is color, so everything on the spectrum of pastels. It's not just about millennial pink; it's about lilac, pale yellow, mint, and baby blue. We have footwear in all of those colors, from a chic flat to strap sandals. We also love [a good] kitten heel [as] it continues to be big for Spring. We also like slides, and athletic [shoes] are still big, like the chunky sneaker trend that's happening right now."

"Our customers continue to love Gucci. Gucci is doing phenomenal for us. The same thing with Louis Vuitton. There are [customers] looking for the new and [customers] looking for the brands they know and trust, but they still want to discover the new [trends]."

"For the 59th street [store location in New York City] we're especially excited to offer M.Gemi and Margaux [exclusively in store]. They're direct-to-consumer brands and we want to get the word about the shoes out there. We definitely wanted to partner with [Margaux] at our flagship to offer that artisanal, made-to-order service."

"I have always loved Schutz shoes. I love what they do. I also think Sam Edelman; I think he is always on the cutting edge of what's happening, and is a prolific designer because he is very much part of the fashion conversation. He's constantly coming up with something new and different."
