Christmas means a trip back to my parents home in the English countryside (think The Holiday, but with a 1960s house and no Jude Law) and inevitable walks around muddy fields. With the swiftly dropping temperatures, that trip calls a cosy classic like the Boden Penryn Parka ($268), which has a removable gilet for extra warmth.

Rose gold shades? HOW do I not already own these ($195)?

I'm still not over all things '70s, and when Olivia Palermo stepped out in her wide-leg denim, my obsession only grew deeper. I love the fit of these MiH For Net-a-Porter Marrakesh jeans ($225), along with the pocket detail and the wash. How fitting that they're part of a new retro-chic collection inspired by just the right decade.

You know those days where your outfit seems great, but then you get down to the shoes, and just — ugh — it seemed better barefoot? I’m thinking these versatile tan Mui Mui booties ($359, originally $595) can solve that issue.

What better way to ring in the New Year than in a gorgeous (and petite-person-friendly) metallic ASOS dress ($104)?

Each seemingly simple piece from Sacai ($553, originally $790) is given something special that transforms it completely. This is a good example of a classic gray sweater juxtaposed in a trapeze shape to make it fresh and new. This is one of too many reasons why this is my absolute favorite collection right now.

I'm not an over-the-top-jewelry kind of girl, so I love how these Elizabeth and James earrings ($195) give a nod to the festive season without going overboard.
