That's exactly what Nadia Lopez, founding principal of Mott Hall Bridges Academy in Brooklyn, strives to achieve with her middle school students. In addition to bringing education to kids in one of the poorest and most violent neighborhoods in New York City, Lopez works to provide social and emotional support in an effort to inspire kids to succeed beyond the classroom.
