#LoveYourBody Day 1: Conquer the Mirror

If you've ever had the experience of staring into the mirror with a laser focus wishing your arms, belly, legs, backside, or (insert your trouble zone here) looked different, it's time to make a small shift in your perspective that brings big long-term benefits. Whenever you realize that you are picking on one part (or a few parts) of your body, step back and away from the mirror.

Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and look back at the mirror with the intention to see the whole you. Stop looking at your body like you're a machine with discardable parts that could be so easily broken down, and start embracing all that it does to help you connect, move, and experience every day. When you think about all the amazing things your body is capable of, it's much harder to rip yourself apart.

If this exercise feels difficult, imagine how your loved ones see you. Do your best to look at yourself in the mirror with their kind eyes, and let go of your old, tired stories filled with self-judgment; they're just not helping anyone.
