The future of Planned Parenthood is a topic that's on millions of women's minds, but this year's Miss America competition was not a place we were anticipating this nonprofit to be discussed. Miss Tennessee Hannah Robison was asked her opinion about the possible defunding of the organization, and the crowd went wild at her thoughtful response.

Vanessa Williams warned Miss Tennessee that her question was "a tough one," but Hannah Robison eloquently and confidently responded: "I don't think Planned Parenthood funding should be cut off. The $500 million that gets given to Planned Parenthood every single year goes to female care. It goes for scanning for cancers, it goes for mammograms, and if we don't give that funding to Planned Parenthood, those women will be out of health care for reproductive causes." (Drops mic)

While Planned Parenthood does not provide mammograms, we want to note that they do screen for both breast cancer and cervical cancer, putting women in the best position possible to seek out appropriate care. To hear the full question and Miss Tennessee's response, jump to 2:42.
