What to Expect in Anthony Bourdain's Much-Anticipated Cookbook Appetites

While we await President Barack Obama's appearance in an upcoming episode of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, celebrity chef and host Anthony Bourdain's revealed a few tidbits of his much-anticipated cookbook to hold us over. Titled Appetites, the cookbook is set to release in late October this year, and the recipes are surprisingly simple, based on his Adweek interview.

His first cookbook in over a decade, Bourdain's Appetites takes it back to comforting family meals. "Meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, budae jjigae, the [Korean] army stew — stuff that makes me happy, that I crave, that I would try out on my daughter, that seems to work at home, but also some strategy of tactics," Bourdain told Adweek. "I love macaroni and cheese. I've always got some elbow macaroni around and some processed or not particularly good, easily meltable cheddar-like stuff that I can make macaroni and cheese with. I have a deep love for that."

As if we didn't have enough respect for the CNN host, this interview definitely didn't hurt. We're marking our calendars now to snag our copies of Bourdain's cookbook and heading to the store to grab some Velveeta, because Bourdain gives us permission to.
