Chipotle announced a rewards program called Chiptopia that will allow customers to earn points and score free food. It will only last for the Summer (July through September), so if you're interested, you'll want to pick up a Chiptopia card the next time you go. The major incentive is that you'll get a free entrée after just four visits if you spend at least $6 before tax each time (which, as we all know, is super easy to do if you add guac). There are three levels you can reach — called mild, medium, and hot — as you spend more and, in return, earn more points. If you go enough times to earn "hot level" each month of the program, you could get up to nine free entrées plus more rewards.

In an official press release, Chipotle's chief creative and development officer, Mark Crumpacker, said, "We created Chiptopia to reward our most loyal customers who continue to support our efforts to cultivate a better world. While Chiptopia Summer Rewards lasts just three months, we will be carefully listening to our customers and using what we learn as we consider the design of an ongoing rewards program." Since Chipotle suffered a major E. coli outbreak beginning late last year, sales have gone down, and it seems the chain is doing everything it can to improve customer satisfaction. Is this rewards program enough to win you back?
