Treat Trial: Which New Hershey's Candies Will Become Halloween Favorites?

New seasonal candies are spilling over your grocery store shelves, but which ones are worth the sugar rush? Hershey's sent us its new Fall flavors: candy corn creme bars ($4), pumpkin spice Kisses ($3), and caramel apple Twizzlers ($3) — and we felt it was our Halloween duty to taste test all the new treats. Some candies were a toothsome surprise, while others had us scraping our tongues in sheer terror. Check out what we had to say so you know how to treat yourself this October. Hershey's Candy Corn Creme Bar

Hershey's Candy Corn Creme Bar

Consider these little guys trick-or-treat gold. The fun-sized candy looks much like a classic mini Hershey bar inside of the wrapper, but once you rip this baby open, you will see that it's made of white creme and candy corn bits. The creamy bar tastes much like a solid block of Funfetti frosting, and we're not complaining. Some said the sugary flavor was a little too sweet for them, but overall this was a crowd favorite. We think we'll keep this treat hanging around in the candy bowl for awhile.

Pumpkin Spice Kisses

Pumpkin Spice Kisses

No, just no. These waxy morsels have a potpourri-strength dose of pumpkin spice that made us shudder with displeasure. "I felt like I just ate a poison pumpkin spice air freshener," one taste-tester lamented. The white chocolate center of this pumpkin spice concoction didn't help the flavor situation — it tasted more like a melted candle to us. Everybody should stick to original Kisses this year.

Caramel Apple Twizzlers

Caramel Apple Twizzlers

We thought our wildest dreams came true when we discovered these apple Twizzlers with caramel filling inside. The unique licorice hybrid received mixed reviews. Some claimed that the candy tasted exactly like a caramel apple. For some, the chewy filling, reminiscent of Tootsie Rolls, was a hit. On the other hand, the combo of textures freaked out some testers, who vowed to never put this Twizzler in their mouths again. Those who expected the Twizzlers to taste like the caramel-covered sour apple lollipops felt sorely disappointed.
