Angelina Jolie showed her support for Malala Yousafzai at the Women in the World Summit, organized by Newsweek/The Daily Beast, in NYC last night. She wore a Saint Laurent maxi dress and coat as she introduced a video message from the Pakistani schoolgirl who got international attention after she was shot by the Taliban for promoting girls' education. Angie said, "Here's what the gunman and the Taliban accomplished on that day. They shot her at point-blank range in the head — and made her stronger." Angelina has also donated $200,000 to the Malala Fund, a new charity set up by Vital Voices to encourage girls' education. Other stars who attended the Women in the World Summit included America Ferrera, Daily Beast editor Tina Brown, and Meryl Streep.

Angelina has been busy with philanthropic work over the past few weeks. She recently traveled to Africa with Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague to raise awareness about rape in war zones.

She and William are touring the DRC and Rwanda to raise awareness about rape in war zones. Angie was with William today when he announced that the UK will be donating over $300,000 toward the Physicians for Human Rights in an effort to create a better method of collecting evidence of sexual violence in these areas. Unfortunately, the two couldn't visit Panzi Hospital, where the charity group works out of, due to bad weather, but they did meet with other survivors at a refugee camp. Angelina and William also laid wreaths at the Gisozi genocide memorial in Kigali, Rwanda, during their charitable travels.

While Angelina is in the spotlight for her philanthropic work, she's also turning heads with a new piece of jewelry. Angelina wore a gold band on her ring finger, instead of her diamond engagement ring, as she caught a flight out of LAX last week.

Ian Somerhalder lent his name to a charitable cause last night at the Natural Resources Defense Council's Game Changer Awards in NYC. Ian, who showed up in a suit to walk the red carpet at the ceremony, has long been involved with environmental causes. In fact, before attending the event at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, Ian stopped by POPSUGAR's NYC offices to talk about his latest efforts. Ian's partnered with LED company Cree, which is developing lightbulbs that he says use 84 percent less energy than standard incandescent bulbs. While Ian tended to a packed schedule on the East Coast, his girlfriend, Nina Dobrev, stayed busy on the West Coast. On Wednesday, she attended a luncheon celebrating The Hollywood Reporter's list of top 25 stylists, which included her own stylist, Ilaria Urbinati.

Salma Hayek took the stage at the Avon Communications Awards in NYC yesterday. The second annual event was held at the United Nations Headquarters, where Salma stepped up to her role as The Avon Foundation's ambassador to speak out against violence against women. Addressing the room full of activists, Salma said, "I just presented at the Academy Awards and I was not even half as nervous and scared as I am today, but also not half as excited as I am to be with you."

The actress signed on with Avon's anti-domestic-violence campaign in 2004 and has continued to flex her power with the recent launch of Chime for Change with Beyoncé Knowles. Salma and Beyoncé teamed up with Gucci for the initiative, which supports projects by women around the world. Salma's husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, who is the CEO of PPR, which owns Gucci, has rallied behind his wife to support her efforts.

Salma Hayek was in Long Beach, CA, yesterday to officially launch Chime For Change, a new charity initiative devised by Salma, Beyoncé Knowles, and Gucci, at a TEDxWomen event. Salma's husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, is the CEO of French luxury company PPR, which owns Gucci, and as such, is the driving force behind the project, which aims to raise funds and awareness to support projects by women around the world. Beyoncé was not able to attend yesterday, but Salma nonetheless posed for photos with other guests, including Jada Pinkett Smith.

Salma took the stage to speak about the project and introduce a short film that featured Beyoncé. In a press release announcing the endeavor, Beyoncé spoke about what Chime For Change means to her. She said, "I have always felt strongly about equal opportunity for women. Girls have to be taught from early on that they are strong and capable of being anything they want to be. It's up to us to change the statistics for women around the world. I'm honored to be in the company of women who live fearlessly and set an example for the next generation of young ladies."

Prince Harry got in the charitable spirit when he traveled to Lesotho in Africa to do work for his Sentebale charity today. He visited the Kananelo Center for the Deaf, where the prince attempted to learn sign language from students. After struggling with a few phrases, Harry reportedly quipped to Lesotho's Prince Seeiso, "I'm never going to get this right." Later, the two princes — who both founded the Sentebale charity in honor of their late mothers — visited St. Bernadette's School for the Blind, where Harry was greeted with a song sung in the Sesotho language. Harry will also visit South Africa during his humanitarian trip, where he will be the guest of honor at a fundraising dinner for his AIDS charity.

Harry's African journey comes just a week after he was spotted snuggling with new girlfriend Cressida Bonas during a family skiing trip in Verbier, Switzerland. Harry and Cressida joined Sarah, Duchess of York, and his cousin Eugenie for his uncle Prince Albert's birthday in the tony Swiss town. Harry will reportedly stay on in Africa a few days following his charity trip to attend a wedding with Cressida's family. Cressida's half-sister Isabella, who was once Prince William's object of affection, is marrying Sir Richard Branson's son in South Africa in two weeks. Cressida is Harry's first serious girlfriend since he split with longtime love Chelsy Davy back in 2011.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds paid a visit to Health Sciences North Hospital's pediatric ward in Sudbury, Canada, this weekend. The couple snapped photos with patients and their families during their trip. Ryan is currently staying in Sudbury to film Queen of the Night with Rosario Dawson and Scott Speedman. He and Blake missed out on all of the Oscars fun that took place this past weekend, which included Blake's The Town director and costar Ben Affleck winning best picture for Argo.

Anne Hathaway showed her support for the One Billion Rising campaign in LA yesterday with husband Adam Shulman by her side. Jane Fonda and Marisa Tomei were among the other famous faces to join the annual event, organized to help end violence against women. It was a special occasion for Anne and Adam — it was their first Valentine's Day as a married couple. They tied the knot last September.

Valentine's Day hasn't been Adam's only recent chance to show his love for Anne. He has been by his wife's side throughout her big award season, which will come to a close next Sunday night. Anne scored a best supporting actress nomination for her role in Les Misérables at Feb. 24's Oscars. It will be a big evening for her, as the film is also up for a total of eight Academy Awards.

Miranda Kerr was out in Sydney this morning to celebrate her new appointment as Kids Helpline ambassador. The Kids Helpline is a phone service that aims to offer help for at-risk youth. Miranda appeared in her element as she posed with youngsters at today's photocall in Luna Park. She tweeted her delight at the new role this morning, writing, "Honored to be the Kids Helpline Ambassador." Meanwhile, back in LA, her own little one has been hanging out with dad Orlando Bloom. Last week, Flynn was seen taking a stroll in the Venice Beach neighborhood with Orlando. Miranda's been Down Under working on various Australian jobs, including a photo shoot for her Kora Organics line and a David Jones fashion show.
