Uber-chic Catherine Zeta Jones was spotted leaving her apartment in NYC looking like a sophisticated Upper East Side lady. In an all-black ensemble, the stunner covered up with a fur coat and threw on an Hermes Birkin bag, oversize sunglasses, and a chunky necklace to complete her look. This Mulberry Bayswater bag has a similar feel, so be sure to check it out now along with other like items!

This is something we don't see very often — Catherine Zeta-Jones dressed down in a bundled up ensemble! Walking the streets of New York, she braved the Fall chill in a fur trimmed down parka which she nonchalantly wore over a simple gray tee, cable knit leggings and a pair of black, suede, cold weather boots. To make this look chic and elegant, she carried an oversize Hermes tote and wore some round sunnies, very similar to these ones by Oliver Peoples. Dress the part by shopping these like items now.
Rihanna stole the show in her dramatic white dress as she and her fellow honorees took the red carpet at last night's Glamour Women of the Year celebration in NYC. Carnegie Hall was brimming with beautiful ladies from Iman to Maria Shriver and Diane von Furstenberg. Catherine Zeta-Jones stood out in blue and had Michael Douglas by her side for support. Rih was just one of a handful of women who were chosen by the magazine, but all eyes were on her — and most of you are loving the look, just the latest in her fashion metamorphosis!
Padma Lakshmi showed off her growing baby bump while one of the evening's honorees Stella McCartney smiled big with her award up on stage where she also had some trouble with her super short skirt. Amy Poehler and Michelle Obama were two of the magazine's other women of the year, though the First Lady didn't attend the event since she was with her husband President Barack Obama visiting with families at Fort Hood. The night was full of inspirational and important females who spoke and mingled, celebrating each other and Glamour's picks. Rihanna has come out strong opening up about her difficult year and what all this means to her – check out Rih's heartfelt speech after the jump.

Michael Douglas was the man of the evening last night as he received an AFI Lifetime Achievement Award in LA. He hit the red carpet on the arm of his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, while his Ghosts of Girlfriends Past costar Matthew McConaughey brought along Camila Alves. Kiefer Sutherland and Tobey Maguire took the stage to pay tribute to their pal Michael, and Catherine even brought out her Chicago skills for a song-and-dance number in her husband's honor. Michael's been a Hollywood heavyweight for decades, but we'll see more of him on the big screen in the Wall Street sequel and, according to Catherine, a project they're looking to star in together.
I can see why Susan Boyle's story would appeal to the Welsh beauty, who can also sing and dance. The dowdy underdog who ended up wowing the judges on Britain's Got Talent has a story with built-in buzz and drama. Do you think she'd make a good Susan Boyle?
Hmm. . . a movie with two relatively big-ish actors (Catherine Zeta-Jones is perhaps more recognizable, but Guy Pearce is an exceptional actor, as you may recall from a little something called Memento) that has been completed for many months but gets practically no U.S. promotion whatsoever, even as its release date (July 11) fast approaches? It kinda makes you wonder about this Harry Houdini drama, Death Defying Acts.
Little Women director Gillian Armstrong leads the dramatic tale of escapism and romance. The story takes place in 1926 Britain where Houdini "enters into a passionate affair with a Scottish psychic (Zeta-Jones). The psychic and her daughter (Saoirse Ronan) attempt to con Houdini during a highly publicized séance to contact his mother whose death has haunted him for many years. However, all does not go to plan."
The story has so much potential to be dark and intriguing, and I am always curious about what Guy Pearce is up to. Plus, there's a pre-Atonement (and thus pre-Oscar nom) Saoirse Ronan and she is a pretty great little actress.
