>> In its upcoming Americana-themed issue, V Magazine has dedicated an entire editorial to homegrown beauties like Karlie Kloss, Christie Brinkley, and Arizona Muse.

Called "American Idols," the collection of photos features some of the USA's biggest supermodels wearing pre-Fall clothing by some of its greatest designers. Brinkley dons a jacket and pants from Ralph Lauren while Dree Hemingway wears an Alexander Wang bodysuit on the opposite page. Carol Alt smolders in Michael Kors, and Elaine Irwin stands next to her in Donna Karan. But perhaps it's not how the models look as much as what they say about America that makes the spread so special.

"I've done it all," Brinkley says. "Worked at 31 Flavors, walked runways, been a rodeo queen, Broadway. Only in America!"

In the 1990s, it was all about the "big six" models, an aesthetically-blessed group that consisted of top earners such as Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, and Cindy Crawford.

Last night the best of the NYC stage flocked to the Beacon Theatre for the annual Tony Awards. Among the Broadway stars, we spotted a few familiar faces — the always-elegant Ellen Barkin in lace-adorned L'Wren Scott; supermodel legend Christie Brinkley in a silky, cobalt blue Zuhair Murad; and presenter Catherine Zeta-Jones stunning in a sparkly, red Elie Saab. We also loved up-and-coming star style, like Lily Rabe's white Prabal Gurung gown and Jennifer Damiano in sparkly Reem Acra.
