Tracey Tong was riding the subway in New York City when she overheard a fellow passenger verbally attacking two Muslim passengers. After the woman repeatedly told the couple that she didn't approve of them residing in the United States — "I don't like it," the woman kept repeating — Tracey stepped in.

Though other passengers had already tried to stop the disturbing conversation, the brave Chinese-Peruvian 23-year-old approached the woman by asking one simple question: "Are you from here?" After learning that the woman was Puerto Rican, Tracey replied in Spanish and said, "Here, we need to all unite together. We don't need to be against another person. That is absolutely ridiculous and disrespectful."

Meanwhile, an onlooker captured the entire exchange. In the shocking video, Tracey continues to calmly talk the woman down and, while she may not have changed the woman's mind, she certainly stood up for what was right. In one moment, Tracey confidently said, "We're all in this together. Whether we like what's going on in the government or not. F*ck it. We gotta deal with it. You're a grown woman. Suck it up and defend your brothers and sisters." Watch the exchange in its entirety above.
