25 Years Later, Police Officer Reunites With the Boy He Found in a Dumpster

In November 1989, police officer Michael Buelna rescued an abandoned baby in a trash bin and named him Adam; now, 25 years later, the two have reunited for the first time. Adam, who's now named Robin Barton, told CBS Los Angeles, "Nice. Wonderful to finally have met you, to see the man who found me first." And in a strange twist of fate, the reunion of the two also led Robin to finally meet his biological father.

Marcos Meza, who had heard about the meeting, said he always knew about Robin but could never find him because the adoption records were sealed. After Robin's story aired, however, Marco was finally able to step forward and reunite with his son. "I want to try and talk like father and son, if he says it's okay," said Marco, who has five daughters and comes from a big family. As for Robin, he said he was raised as an only child so it's a bit of a shock, but if there is one thing he's learned in life, it's to be grateful — for the officer who saved him, his adopted parents, and the family who raised him.
