A Colorblind Dad Sees His Children's Blue Eyes For the First Time
Birthdays are pretty special, and one father had more to celebrate than just turning a year older. Opie Hughes, who has red and green colorblindness, was able to see colors for the first time with a pair of EnChroma glasses. In a video that went viral, the dad, not knowing what was inside would change his life, opens the special package while his sister films his reaction. When he finally gets the glasses on, the father of three is speechless as he looks at everything from his children's jackets to the flowers they planted for him.
The overwhelmed dad paces back and forth before sitting down and pulling his son closer to him. For the first time ever, Opie is able to see his son's bright blue eyes and the vibrant color of his daughter's jacket. Opie's girlfriend has since spoken out about this special moment, writing on Facebook:
