My six year old is named Ian, meaning a gift from God. He and his brother are 17 years apart so he really was an unexpected gift from God.

I like Nosh Elan. It's Native American and means father and tree, respectively. My husband would go for it and being the symbolic person that I am I took the first two letters of Nosh, "No", for our son is my husbands second son and I took the last three letters of Elan, "lan", for our son is the last child and my third son, given way to the name Nolan my personal meaning is father Tree, although I am aware that Nolan already exists and it's meaning is different.

I have two boys and hardly hear others with the same names! Daniel James and David Joseph. Their middle names are in honor of each grandfather. I didn't mean for them to have the same initials, but I like that they do. Lol

My son's name is Elijah Dean. I have always loved the name Elijah and loved the biblical meaning "The Lord is my God." It's a strong name for a strong young man and it fits him to a tee. Elijah was a prophet in the bible who stood up against the prophets of baal and came to bring about God's perfect government. Dean is after my father who passed away when I was a baby. I wanted something sentimentally meaningful and he was a great man who loved God with his whole heart. I think Elijah Dean sounds great together.

I have a cousins named Stetson and his brother British. Their sisters names are Kennedy and Chynna. Their mom also wanted unique names. For my youngest son I gave him a name that I spelled the way it sounded to me , Ceasar. But we let my father-in-law do the middle name, Alroqui. He put that together using his own name. He took the first 2 letters from his first and last name and then the first 3 from his middle name. I went with it because granddads hardly ever get the chance to name the babies. Our daughters name is not unusual either, just spelled differently also. Gabriela Viviana.

Salvienne Vidot (31yrs) from Seychelles Hey am proud to know that someone else has given his son the name Asher. In our country no one has used this name yet. Wow!! I told God that I want a baby who will bring happiness to everyone. One day during prayer I was praying using my bible i saw this name Asher, I was three months pregnant. I liked this name and thought to myself. Why Not? I kept quiet and one day my husband told me he have seen a name Asher in the bible and it's seems interesting, I shared to him that I have seen this name and thinking of giving him. He told me it means 'happiness'. I said wow this is my desire so I will call him Asher because he will be a happy boy and make others happy. I asked God if this is the name he wants us to give our child, I have never heard another name from God since, so in my womb I called him Asher even if we didn't know his sex, later when we knew we kept the name until today. He is 3 weeks old, we declared him yesterday 11 sep. he really fits his name, he is always smiling, always happy and quiet though he cries loud when he does so. I feel so happy when I see him, though I am tired at night to feed him, when I look at his smiling and happy face I feel so move and latch him on his breasts and give him loads of kisses.

My son's name is Asher, which means blessed or happy. This name is so perfect for him because he is always smiling! He smiles at anyone who looks at him, and will give me a huge smile as soon as he wakes up and sees me. I've never met anyone with that name and thought it was unique. Funny story though, during a single day within about 3 hours, I met 3 babies with the name Asher! One baby was only 6 days old, the other was my ex of 5 years lol (hysterical that my ex and I named our kids the same thing) and the 3rd Asher was a baby at the doctor's office. I actually wish I would have named him Wyatt, but that will just have to be for my next boy! I love the name Asher and I wouldn't change it only because it just suits him so well.

I have 3 boys- Riley, Jack, & George. I wanted names that complimented each other & I think mine do. I get compliments all the time from people about how much they love my boy's names. :)

GeorgetteEachus - why not just add the family name or hyphenate it to the end to honor his parents - especially his deceased father and yet give him ties to your family. Issac Fredrick Z.... Thomas or Issac Fredrick Z...-Thomas His parents did choose his name and it is likely one of the only things he has left from them.

My son's name is Chase which means "hunter". I also like that names Drake and Bryce. my husband and I really like names that you don't hear on a regular basis but are easily to spell. We didn't want our child to have a hard time learning to spell his name.
