Little Boy's Last Wish Was to See His Parents Get Married — See the Sweet Photos

Five-year-old Corey Edwards from Teignmouth, Devon, England, got to see the thing he wanted most just five days before he died in the hospital. When parents Jemma and Craig Edwards found out their son did not have much longer to live, they organized a wedding within 48 hours and got married next to Corey's bedside at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children in England.

"He's asked quite a few times why we are not married, so we thought we would make it a special day and cheer him up a bit," said Corey's father.

Corey was diagnosed with a complex congenital heart defect when he was 7 months old, and he was in the pediatric intensive care unit after being admitted to the hospital in January.

When Corey's parents decided to hold the ceremony, the hospital staff joined in the effort to help make it happen quickly. One nurse did the bride's hair while another made a wedding cake, and the hospital chaplain officiated the ceremony. The parents said they "rushed into town" to buy wedding clothes and "made do with their engagement rings."

Little Corey wore a suit and tie and held the rings as he watched his parents exchange vows next to him.

Corey's father said it was "a day we will never forget."
