What These Officers Did to Save Christmas For 4 Kids Will Blow You Away

A real-life Grinch tried to steal Christmas from one California family after burglarizing their home and taking all of their gifts.

When Fremont, CA, police officers responded to the call on Dec. 23, they learned that not a single present remained under the Szeto family's tree. Moved by the visibly upset children, the officers came up with a plan to save Christmas for these four kids.

According to the Fremont Police Department, officer L. Kennedy put on her Santa hat and went shopping before the beginning of the midnight shift on Christmas Eve. She brought all of the newly purchased goodies to the shift's briefing, and everyone wrapped the presents together before they loaded up their "patrol sleigh" and surprised the family.

"While we know our gifts weren't exact replacements, we hope that it helped to restore some hope and happiness for the children," the Fremont Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

The children were very excited with the officers' surprise, and according to police, one of the kids said, "This was the best Christmas ever!" Taking in the handwritten thank-you notes and the smiles on the kids' faces, it's easy to see that these children thoroughly enjoyed Christmas — despite the ultimate Scrooge — thanks to these thoughtful police officers.
