This French Boy's Moving Interview About the Paris Attacks Will Bring You to Tears

An interview with a French father and his son about the Paris terrorist attacks is going viral, and the dad's choice words for his son will move you.

The clip, which was from Le Petit Journal but later reposted on Facebook with English subtitles, shows an innocent young boy talking to a reporter about his understanding of what happened on Nov. 13. After he describes the "bad guys," he surprises his dad by saying, "We have to be very careful because we have to change houses."

His father comforts the child by saying, "Oh no, don't worry. We don't have to move out. France is our home." This isn't enough for the concerned boy who is worried about the bad guys with guns. As heartbreaking as the child's fear is, his father's powerful response is a moving lesson on humanity.

Dad: It's OK, they might have guns, but we have flowers.
Son: But flowers don't do anything. They're for, they're for . . .
Dad: Of course they do. Look, everyone is putting flowers. It's to fight against guns.

After the little boy learns that the flowers and candles are being put out not only to remember those who were lost but also to protect him, his sense of relief is palpable. Watch the rest of the touching interview above.
