INGREDIENTS
- 6-8 assorted pears such as Bosc, Anjou, and yellow Bartlett
- 6 seedless Mandarin oranges or Clementines
- For the faces and legs:
- raisins or currants
- 1 red apple
- shelled peanuts and/or shelled cashews

These “turkeys” made of fruit are a healthy way to engage the kids on Thanksgiving Day. You can use any type of pears that you like, but I look for two types at least in order to vary the colors of the turkey’s “feathers.” If the turkeys are not served immediately, rub the cut side of each pear with a lemon juice in order to keep their color.
