This Badass Mom Delivered Quadruplets Just Weeks After Being Told Her Cancer Had Returned

Kayla Gaytan was full of joy when she learned that her lymphoma had gone into remission while she was pregnant with not one but four little ones. "It was exciting. It was nerve-[racking]. But to see them when they all came out and to hear them crying, that was really exciting," Gaytan told WKRN-TV, a local news station in Nashville.

While the new mommy of four is celebrating giving birth to her babies, Lillian, Victoria, Michael, and Charles, Gaytan also has to worry about receiving chemotherapy treatment within the next two weeks after discovering her Hodgkin's lymphoma has returned. "You think you've beat it the first time," Gaytan said. "When it comes back, you're just wondering why get pregnant with these four babies and then, you know, something like this happens."

Her husband, Sergeant Charles Gaytan, has started a GoFundMe page for his wife, asking for generous donations to help cover the medical expenses for the stem cell transplant and chemo Kayla is expected to receive. "We've been extremely fortunate in our lives," he wrote. "However we appreciate any help as we have a long journey ahead."

Gaytan said although she is battling with cancer, she remains hopeful that her cancer treatment will be a success. "We know that He's gotta have a different plan up there for us, and surely everything's gonna work out in the end," she told WKRN-TV. A true badass, indeed!
