Playtex Pacifier Recall 2014

Recall Alert! Playtex Pulls Over 1 Million Pacifier Clips

Before popping a pacifier into your baby's mouth today, you'll want to check it out! Playtex has recalled more than 1.25 million of its pacifier clips. The recall has occurred after the company received 99 reports of the holder cracking or breaking, which poses a choking hazard to little ones. The clip was sold at multiple stores and online from July 2010 through October 2013.

All versions of the clip have been included in the recall, including the following designs: green with a monkey figure, pink with a flower, and blue with a tow truck. Parents who use the clips have been told to stop using them immediately and contact Playtex for a full refund. They can call the company at 1-888-220-2075 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST Monday through Friday or visit www.playtexproducts.com and click on Recall for more information.

To me this sounds like common sense too inspect these they are made out of like a flexible rubber/silicone type material. We have the blue one with the truck and have used it for about 18 months with no problems . It's no different than the binkis we put into our childrens mouths they can rip over time and babies can choke on them. . You just have to pay close attention to your children ladies and a lot of these recalls could be prevented. Too many distractions this day in age and not enough attention is paid to children. People act like baby swings, bouncy seats, ect are baby sitters .

Thanks so much for sharing--I'm letting my Facebook friends know in case they have any of these. I am tired of all of these recalls though--do any companies actually do research and testing anymore? I know as parents it is our job to keep our kids safe, but all it takes is a few seconds for a kid to pop something into their mouth and choke.
